Throwback

It has been dreary here lately. The rain keeps trickling down my windows and gutters, a sound that normally, I'd find great peace in. If I were home in California, I'd grab a cup of tea, my book, a blanket and create a nest on the couch - attempting to sit there as long as possible.

Instead I cozy up to my computer in my sweatpants and 2,395+ pairs of socks with my cup of coffee and begin to read about all the sun the rest of the planet is receiving. My kid sister in Cali has been tanning by the pool. Tanning! In March. The only thought that can shake my jealousy of her sunshine is the fact that she's not at the ocean.

I can hear you all audibly groaning as I type this. 'the ocean, again...', 'what can we do to get her to stop talking about the ocean...!?', 'you hold her down, I'll take her out'...

I clearly have a very aggressive view of you, my readers. But no, I will not go into my love obsession of the ocean with you anymore this week. I will simply say that I've been humming Weezer's Island in the Sun all morning - Thanks Mary-kate and Ash.

OH, and I made this beautymess on pinterest.

wait, wait, but you didn't explain the creepy pictures of the girls.
ooooh, well I took these lovely photos in high school as part of my mermaid obsession. In all this rainystuckinsideforever excitement, I had some time to sort through and organize my external hard drive.

I did all the make up and styling, threw them in the pool, and then hopped in with them to create this magic. Gosh, how I miss the spontaneity high school offers.

  1. Nice! The second pic is my favorite. I had a childhood obsession with The Little Mermaid that I may or may not have grown out of, so these are awesome to me!

  3. These are amazing. I was sure they came from a high end fashion mag, and then I read the post. Jaw. Dropped. You should put together a portfolio.
