We've Got bagels, yes we do...

... We've got bagels, how 'bout you?

Husband and I loooooove food. He loves all food. I love good food. I think this is why we got along so well - because he likes all the same foods as me, by default.

Each and every time I want him to try something new - he agrees, "Its delicious."
Most times he wants me to try a new food I give him my, "Well, you must think I'm crazy" look.

However, before dating Husband, 'I didn't like' and therefore hadn't tried: mustard, cauliflower, hot sauce, pears, calamari, sushi, fish of any sort, cottage cheese, cream cheese (any non solid 'cheese', really), horseradish, mayonnaise, sour cream, whipped cream, (most white semi-liquids), jelly or jam, oatmeal, cream of wheat, syrup, honey, molasses, pheasant, ribs, buffalo wings, buffalo burgers, buffalo meat (ugh, too much buffalo), pork chops, lamb. All the meats are significantly important to me because when husband and I started hanging out I was a vegetarian. I know, I know, the V word.

My mom always complains that I never tried new foods in their home, but with Husband I always do. I used to fight this statement, but now that I see this list, I realize its sooo true. If she served something for dinner that even looked slightly funny; no siireeee bob. However, Husband just bats his little eyelashes and boom, its in my mouth. I don't know how he does it.

Sorry, mom.

Is this true for anyone else - does your significant other make you more bold in the kitchen?
Will you guys still talk to me, now that you know I'm such a food prude?

    1. Man, I wish I was better at declining. I am the worst. I just don't want to disappoint anyone I guess.

  3. Oh my gosh, I can't believe you never tried any of those thing growing up! I am not a picky eater at all. There is some stuff that I don't really care for, but I am willing to try anything once.

    1. Really? Oh, I'm the absolute worst about trying foods. I usually attempt to make a big scene so that whoever is trying just ends up giving up. You know what, 9/10 times it actually works. But my husband doesn't care. He loves making me eat things that make my eyes get big and mouth purse up. ughghg.
