You slept in late today, and I figured you'd be starving per usual. I quickly changed your diaper and watched you happily march down the hall to the kitchen. I swooped you up and threw you into your highchair. You began to scream and cry. Confused, I ran to the pantry to grab you some food. You refused it. I gave you a sippy. No thanks, mom. Defeated, I put you down and watched you run to the window. Every morning this week we've delighted in watching our little lizard friend dart between our screen and window. I had forgotten, but you had not. You looked back at me and pointed at him as if to say, "the lizard, mom, you forgot the lizard."
